Will D’Andre Swift Be Back with the Eagles Next Season?

Will D’Andre Swift Be Back with the Eagles Next Season?
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

The hierarchy of the Philadelphia Eagles was in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine last week before hustling home to be there for the emotional retirement speech by the team’s longtime heart and soul, Jason Kelce.

While at the combine, the team continued to scout potential targets for April’s NFL draft in Detroit. One decision looming for the Eagles is the status of free agent running back D'Andre Swift, who played last season in the City of Brotherly Love after three seasons with the Detroit Lions.

PennStakes.com had Pennsylvania sports betting in mind, as always, as we looked at probable odds on Swift’s future landing spot. Below is where he might end up:

D'Andre Swift Odds for 2024

TeamOddsPercent Chance
Philadelphia Eagles-20066.7%
Las Vegas Raiders+12007.7%
New York Giants+17505.4%
Baltimore Ravens+17505.4%

Best Bet Is Swift Staying with Eagles

The obvious landing spot for Swift is to stay right here in Philadelphia as the Eagles are the favorite at -200 (66.7% chance) in our hypothetical odds. As a starter last season, Swift had his best season as a pro in games played (16), carries (229) and rushing yards (1,049 - first time in career). He also had 39 receptions for 214 yards (5.5 yards per catch) with one score. He is the team’s No. 1 running back and there is no reason why the Eagles should not re-sign him to a new deal.

Swift would be a key for new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

The awful end to the Eagles season did not go unnoticed by operators. FanDuel Pennsylvania, for example, has the Eagles at +1700 to win the Super Bowl. That is seventh overall; the Eagles were rated more highly in recent seasons.

Other potential destinations for Swift include the Las Vegas Raiders, under now full-time head coach Antonio Pierce (+1200, 7.7%), division rival New York Giants and the Baltimore Ravens (both +1750, 5.4%). Rounding out the top five is Minnesota at +2000. Any other team not on the list is listed at +1000 (9.1%).
