Will Villanova Make March Madness 2025? Odds of Wildcats’ Men’s Basketball Making The NCAA Tournament

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

It appears that the glory years of the Villanova Wildcats’ men’s basketball heyday are fully in the rearview mirror. The Big East men’s basketball powerhouse is on the precipice of a third straight season on the outside looking in at the 68-team NCAA Tournament field, a huge Pennsylvania sports betting event.

The Wildcats are over .500 (at 8-7) in Big East play and 15-11 overall, ultimately dragging the school down to a lowly KenPom.com ranking of 55th nationally. Villanova’s NET rankings is even lower, at No. 60.

On the heels of a loss to Providence, PennStakes.com looks at the Wildcats’ NCAA Tournament odds.

Will Villanova Snap March Madness Skid in 2025?

PennStakes.com, which brings you the best Pennsylvania sportsbook promo codes, projects that Villanova is a longshot to make the field for the first time under head coach Kyle Neptune.

As of Feb. 18, we have the Big East program at +1375 odds (or a 6.8% chance) to make the field of 68 in 2025. They have not been to the big March Madness event since the 2021-22 season.

For now, Villanova’s quest to return to men’s basketball prominence requires them to fare well down the stretch. The Wildcats have only one game against a ranked foe between now and March 4, with a home clash against No. 16 Marquette on Feb. 21.

The Caesars Pennsylvania Sportsbook has +75000 odds on ‘Nova winning the NCAA championship, which the program achieved under coach Jay Wright in 2016 and 2018 to go with the 1985 championship under Rollie Massimino.

Between that high-wire act and the need to avoid faceplanting against any of the unranked foes (Seton Hall, Butler and Georgetown) that remain on Villanova’s schedule, the going’s getting tough for Neptune and his team.
