The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers both return home Sunday for Week 2 of the NFL season and Pennsylvania sports betting. Both teams took season-opening victories last week as road underdogs.
For bettors in Pennsylvania, Unibet Sportsbook is running Steelers and Eagles promotions all season long.
Steelers-Raiders Preview
The Steelers (1-0), coming off a come-from-behind 23-16 road win at Buffalo, host the Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) at 1 p.m. ET. Pittsburgh has opened as a 5.5-point favorite on DraftKings Pennsylvania, BetMGM and Caesars, and a 4.5-point favorite on Tipico.
Over/under totals range from 46.5-47 points with moneylines on the Steelers ranging from -225 (BetMGM Pennsylvania), -250 (Caesars, Tipico) and -255 (DraftKings).
The Raiders won a thrilling 33-27 overtime contest at home over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.
Prediction: Can the Raiders have a balanced attack on both sides of the ball like they did against the Ravens? Will the Steelers build off their second-half momentum (23 points) from the Bills game? It seems to me both teams came into Week 1 needing an identity. They not only displayed that, but came out victorious. In front of his home crowd, Big Ben Roethlisberger will find a way to get it done, but it will be much closer than people think. Steelers 27-21.
Eagles-49ers Preview
The Eagles (1-0), who are coming off an impressive 32-6 road victory at Atlanta, come home to face the San Francisco 49ers (1-0) at 1 p.m. ET. The Niners are coming off a 41-33 victory at Detroit last Sunday.
The Eagles are listed as +3.5 home underdogs (BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Tipico) with moneylines on Philadelphia listed at +155 (Tipico), +160 (DraftKings, Caesars) and +165 (BetMGM). The Over/Under total for Pennsylvania online gambling is listed at 50 points.
Under a new head coach, a quarterback who was making his fifth start of his career and a defense that had question marks about its identity, the Eagles played about as well as you can play on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Jalen Hurts managed a great game and the offense was as smooth as can be with Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith and running back Kenneth Gainwell picking up their first career touchdowns.
The Niners used a 31-point first half performance to take control in Detroit on Sunday and improved to 23-8 with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as a starter.
Prediction: Back-to-back road games on the East Coast could be an issue for San Francisco on Sunday. Both teams come in with supreme confidence and this has all the makings of being the game of the week. Can Hurts again show his leadership against a much tougher opponent and will the Eagles defense carry its momentum with the home crowd’s urging? This will be tight late and with Garoppolo’s record as a starter, it is tough to pick against them, but I will on the foot of Eagles kicker Jake Elliott. Eagles 27-24.
