Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has been awarded a full Interactive Gaming Manufacturer License in Pennsylvania. The new license complements GiG’s established five-year presence in the U.S., with its existing licenses in New Jersey and Iowa plus a newly awarded license in Maryland.
The company also operates in Ontario, Canada, as it enters the PA online casino sphere.
More About Gaming Innovation Group
GiG is a leading iGaming technology company, providing products and services to iGaming operators. It is presently a B2B company, working with existing partners including those offering apps, but GiG looks to expand beyond that.
The company, founded in 2012, is based in the U.S., but with a main subsidiary in Malta. If you like to gamble on the stock market, GIG trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol GIGSEK.
Last April Gig purchased the online sports betting platform Sportnco, which already functions in 40 countries; GIG plans to bring it to North America. While its new Maryland license will allow it to launch Crab Sports, in Pennsylvania the plan is to expand its relationship with an existing partner, possibly PlayStar Casino.
Reaction To GiG Announcement
“Having placed a strong focus on expansion in regulated markets, we’re understandably pleased with the confirmation of our licenses in two new U.S. states,” GIG general counsel Claudio Caruana said in a statement. “Regulation will continue to drive the industry in North America, as markets mature, allowing us to support and protect operators and their customers, establishing suitable, robust frameworks for sustainable growth.”
Marcel Elfersy, GIG’s Chief Commercial Officer, added: “With our plans to open our new U.S. hub later this year … our new licensed status in these very attractive online markets creates further opportunity for us to add value for new and established partners in the region. We’re excited about the possibilities these new states provide, starting with the launch of Crab Sports in Maryland in May on our PAM and sportsbook.”
