With two Super Bowl championships and 17 postseason appearances over the last quarter-century in the City of Brotherly Love, it’s a difficult task to make it on the 21st century Mount Rushmore as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s exactly what a handful of franchise icons have done, however, with PennStakes.com using the approximate value totals compiled by Pro-Football-Reference.com to come up with the franchise’s All-Quarter-Century team.
Position | Player | Years With Team | Approximate Value During Years |
QB | Donovan McNabb | 2000-2009 | 125 |
RB | Brian Westbrook | 2002-2009 | 77 |
WR | DeSean Jackson | 2008-2020 | 61 |
WR | A.J. Brown | 2022-Present | 43 |
TE | Zach Ertz | 2013-2021 | 51 |
OT | Jason Peters | 2009-2020 | 99 |
G | Todd Herremans | 2005-2014 | 61 |
C | Jason Kelce | 2011-2023 | 132 |
G | Jermane Mayberry | 2000-2004 | 37 |
OT | Lane Johnson | 2013-Present | 108 |
On the offensive side of the ball, few Eagles have done more during their respective runs in Philly than quarterback Donovan McNabb, who had 126 AV with the club from 1999 to 2009 (and 125 AV from 2000 to 2008), placing him third all-time on the franchise’s AV leaderboard.
One player who did manage to one-up McNabb in that category and do it from one of the least sexy positions in the sport was center Jason Kelce, who racked up 132 AV across 193 games with the Eagles from 2011 to 2023, putting him three points ahead of legendary defensive end Reggie White for the top spot in club history. Kelce did it all in 13 years spent with the franchise, making seven Pro Bowl trips and making the NFL’s All-Pro team six times during that stretch, finishing 24 points ahead of the next closest Philly star not named McNabb, in offensive tackle Lane Johnson.
Johnson, who is one of two current members of the Eagles franchise (along with wideout A.J. Brown), has 108 AV in 158 games with the club, ranking sixth all time on Philly’s AV leaderboard, behind defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (121 AV in 188 games from 2013 to 2024) and ahead of QB Randall Cunningham (105 AV in 122 games from 1985 to 1995).
Position | Player | Years With Team | Approximate Value During Years |
DE | Trent Cole | 2005-2014 | 80 |
DT | Fletcher Cox | 2012-2023 | 121 |
DT | Mike Patterson | 2005-2012 | 51 |
DE | Brandon Graham | 2010-2024 | 71 |
LB | Jeremiah Trotter | 2000-01, 2004-06, 2009 | 61 |
LB | Mychal Kendricks | 2012-2017 | 36 |
LB | Carlos Emmons | 2000-2003 | 32 |
CB | Troy Vincent | 2000-2003 | 55 |
S | Brian Dawkins | 2000-2008 | 92 |
S | Malcolm Jenkins | 2014-2019 | 45 |
CB | Sheldon Brown | 2002-2009 | 48 |
Defensively, no Eagle has come close to racking up the type of value that Cox has during his 12-year run in Philly, with the six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle earning 121 AV in 188 games played, with 70 sacks and 16 forced fumbles during that period.
No other Philly defensive player finished in triple digits from 2000 to 2024, with safety Brian Dawkins (92 AV from 2000 to 2008) and defensive end Trent Cole (80 AV in 155 games from 2005 to 2014) being the next closest to Cox’s mark.
Position | Player | Years With Team | Approximate Value During Years |
K | David Akers | 2000-2010 | 38 |
P | Donnie Jones | 2013-2017 | 10 |
In the special teams game, no Philly player had as much of an impact on the game as kicker David Akers, who ranks 89th on the franchise’s AV leaderboard with a total of 38 from 2000 to 2010, hitting 386 of his 477 kick attempts with the franchise.
The six-time Pro Bowl kicker and two-time All-Pro team member finished ahead of punter Donnie Jones, who accumulated 10 AV of his own during a five-year run with the franchise from 2013 to 2017, averaging 45.4 yards per attempt and winning a Super Bowl with Philly in 2018.
