Now that a debt ceiling default won’t plunge the global economy into chaos and send the stock market crashing like a meteorite, it’s a good day to consider other things we might be thankful for in Pennsylvania.
Based on research by PennStakes.com – your source for Pennsylvania sports betting – PA is tied for fifth, when it comes to the most thankful states in the country.
While it is hard to objectively decipher thankfulness, we found two key statistics to help us with our research.
PennStakes.com utilized two combined data points to develop the ranking of the 50 U.S. States from most to least thankful. We utilized Toast’s data showing the state ranking of highest average tip percentage to restaurants during 2022 and Google Trend’s search interest of the “Thank You Notes” over past 12 months to develop our campaign.
So, take a break from weighing the NBA finals on your PA sportsbook apps and check out our rankings.
Pennsylvanians are above average when it comes to tipping and thank you notes, maybe because the American Rescue Plan pumped $6 billion into the state’s economy and saved numerous pension funds from going under.
Perhaps Pennsylvanians are thankful because the Pittsburgh Pirates are better than expected, the Philadelphia 76ers have a new coach (and might no longer have James Harden) and the city of Philadelphia soon will have a new mayor.
There’s lots of history to be thankful for in Pennsylvania, from the battlefields of Gettysburg, to where Washington crossed the Delaware, to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
If art and architecture are more your thing, Pennsylvania has great museums, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Carnegie, the Barnes, and the Rodin and also prominent architecture from greats like Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank Furness.
Be thankful for the cheesesteak, the pretzel and Pierogies and those Primanti Bros. sandwiches with French fries. And we can’t forget Old Forge Pizza in Scranton or all the deliciousness in Pennsylvania Dutch Country and Hershey. Pennsylvania also grows some of the best plums and apricots in the country.
And when it comes to brews, everyone should be thankful for Yuengling, America’s oldest brewery.
While we’re being thankful, let’s be thankful for famous Pennsylvanians like Gene Kelly, Patti LaBelle, Kevin Hart, Kobe Bryant, Bradley Cooper, Will Smith and the most thankful – and thanked – performer of them all, Taylor Swift.
In addition to stories of cultural interest such as this, PennStakes.com also offers PA casino bonuses.
