The NFL’s resident book worm appears to be on the outs with his current employer, as three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles are at a loggerhead after the sixth year veteran hauled in his lowest year-end receptions (67) and yards (1,079) since coming to Philly in 2022.
The future of the 27-year-old wideout took another turn this week when incoming New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel alluded to his interest in reuniting with his former star wideout on a radio show.
“I think A.J. is just trying to find ways to release — I’m proud of his development, his personal development, and working on himself and working on getting back to center. He’s a passionate player, I love him to death, and I have a very, very close relationship with him,” Vrabel said on the show.
Given that Vrabel was a key voice in drafting Brown out of Ole Miss in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft during his time as the head coach of the Titans, it makes sense that the star wide receiver would likely wind up in Foxborough, though it'd be a blow to Eagles futures across PA sports betting.
That’s why we broke down some odds on Brown’s next NFL team for PennStakes.com, with the Patriots currently sitting as the leader in the clubhouse to land the three-time NFL second-team All-Pro receiver this offseason.
Team | Odds | Percent Chance |
New England Patriots | +1000 | 9.1% |
Los Angeles Chargers | +4000 | 2.4% |
Buffalo Bills | +7500 | 1.3% |
Kansas City Chiefs | +7500 | 1.3% |
Chicago Bears | +8000 | 1.2% |
The Field / Stay With Eagles | -600 | 85.7% |
While the Eagles are still atop our Brown next team odds board, at -600, the top outside suitor is Vrabel’s new employer, with the Patriots checking in at +1000, ranking well ahead of the Los Angeles Chargers (+4000), Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs (+7500 each) on our list.
Throw in the Chicago Bears at +8000 and you have the potential landing spots for Brown covered, as the 27-year-old Mississippi native prepares for the Eagles’ NFC Divisional Round showdown against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
For now, what we know for sure is that oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook PA have Brown and the Eagles down as a six-point home favorite over the Rams, with a -290 moneyline on Philly compared with +235 odds on the NFC West champions.

While there's speculation and some intriguing connections regarding Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown, it's important to note that these are just rumors at this point. Recent reports indicate that the Philadelphia Eagles have shut down any inquiries regarding a potential trade for A.J. Brown.
While he did request a trade in the past with the Tennessee Titans, there are no current indications that A.J. Brown wants to be traded from the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Tennessee Titans traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles primarily due to a contract dispute. Brown was entering the final year of his rookie contract and was seeking a significant pay raise, while the Titans believed they could find a suitable replacement for Brown through the draft.
