What are the Newest Sportsbooks in Pennsylvania?

So let's get you up to date on the handful of the newest entries to the list of online sports betting providers that have come to Pennsylvania. All of the operators listed below are legal sports betting companies hosting online sportsbooks in PA, under the eye of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Bet online with confidence with any of these new Pennsylvania sportsbooks.

By the way, we're leaving TwinSpires off the list because it recently ceased casino and sports betting operations in Pennsylvania to put a more substantial investment into its horse racing business. You can still download and use its app, but only to bet on horse racing.

  • BetPARX PA Parx Casino and Racing, a horse racing venue and casino complex in Pennsylvania, dates back to the opening of Keystone Racetrack in Bensalem in 1974. The affiliated casino opened its doors in 2009, and the online sports betting product went live in March of 2022. BetPARX now operates in five states and uses the popular Kambi software to set its odds. Their sports betting site is sleek and features plenty of ways to claim bonus bets as well as profit boosts.
  • PointsBet PA / Fanatics Sportsbook Pennsylvania Australia's PointsBet came to these shores with a modern-looking design and a betting type called Pointsbetting that no other operator was offering. Their product was enticing enough that the sports merchandise giant Fanatics wanted a piece of the action and outbid DraftKings for the PointsBet's American business interests. Expect all PointsBet operations, including their Pennsylvania sportsbook, to rebrand under the Fanatics PA banner in the coming months.
  • Betway Sportsbook PA European giant Betway has started making an impact in the U.S., offering Pennsylvania sports betting enthusiasts yet another option. The betting odds are consistently among the most competitive among legal PA sportsbooks. Additionally, Betway PA has a reputation for being a secure and trusted book with features that Pennsylvania bettors love. Check out the Betway Plus loyalty club for bonus bets and other popular promotions. Betway Pennsylvania partnered with Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in order to receive its state license to legally operate.
  • Borgata Sportsbook PA Although there are plenty of options across Pennsylvania, the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City remains a top retail gambling destination for Pennsylvania bettors. Now the Borgata brand has crossed the Delaware River as an online sportsbook you can download to your phone. There's a lot of overlap between the Borgata sportsbook and the sports betting software you'll find at BetMGM. That shouldn't come as a surprise, owing to their shared parent company. With Borgata, you get a rock-solid PA online sports betting experience.

Which Sportsbooks are Coming to Pennsylvania?

So that's what's new, but what's next? You'll probably see a full relaunch of Fanatics Sportsbook PA and ESPN BET Pennsylvania before any new PA sports betting sites complete the licensing process. And it's possible that some of the operators you're familiar with will have folded or sold their interests to a bigger fish. But there are a few other sports betting apps you can expect to see coming to Pennsylvania before long.

  • Bet365 PA When TwinSpires pulled out of the sports betting game in PA, bet365 was there to take advantage of the market access that Churchill Downs had secured. The deal between Churchill Downs Incorporated and bet365 was announced in January of 2023, and the UK book quickly applied for a license with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. There's no timetable for a launch, but bet365 is already offering legal online sports betting in six states.
  • Bally Bet PA After a shaky start that ended in a temporary shutdown, Bally Bet Sportsbook relaunched in late August of 2023. It is currently available in six states, and there are plans to open in other states. Their online casino is already dealing blackjack hands and offering slots across Pennsylvania. So if the revamped version of their online sportsbook is more successful than their first try, it stands to reason that they'd bring it to PA as well.
  • LeoVegas PA Based in Stockholm, Sweden, LeoVegas is a highly-regarded operator across Europe that was acquired by MGM Resorts in 2022. They're mainly known for their immensely popular online casino product, but also offer a customizable and user-friendly sports betting experience. LeoVegas is most likely to break ground in New Jersey first when they come to the US, but Pennsylvania should be on the docket shortly after that.

Advantages of Trying Out New Sportsbooks

No matter how much you like your current online sportsbooks, it's a good idea to keep an open mind and see what else is out there. You should try to take advantage of every new customer promotion that is available to you. Even if you love everything about Caesars Sportsbook PA, there's no reason to miss out on a welcome bonus when it takes only minutes to sign up with a new sportsbook. Simply put, competition among sportsbooks is good for bettors. New PA sportsbooks will bend over backward to siphon customers and money from the established brands. Consider the following factors when a new sportsbook hits the market.

✔ The Lines

Are you line shopping yet? And if not, why not? For example, why would you bet on the Phillies at -140 if you could place a wager on them to win at shorter odds, such as -130? Whenever a new sportsbook launches in PA, you owe it to yourself to sign up, so that you can have access to as many different lines as possible. If you find a line that is slightly better than another for your purposes, the profit difference isn't going to be very significant if you win the bet. But over time, a little can turn into a lot.

✔ The Promos

If you've been enjoying Pennsylvania sports betting for a while, you've probably noticed that the gambling companies roll out their most generous bonuses to new bettors. Whether you're getting bonus bets or some kind of deposit match for opening a new account, you can expect the best offers with PA sportsbook promos when you first get there. Plenty of sports betting apps will also dangle a pre-launch bonus, which can give you extra perks for signing up before they even goes live with online betting.

✔ The Markets

You may not find all the sports want to bet on at every sports betting app; signing up at a new PA sportsbooks gives you access to a greater range of markets. For instance, a European book (like the incoming bet365) is more likely to have a deep bench of bets around EPL, Bundesliga and other European soccer leagues, while sportsbooks based in the United States will probably lean harder into the American brand of football.
